The chips are stacked against the regular folk who by the way are the backbone of our country. We are the majority and we do have power. It’s the regular people who are protecting our country and freedoms abroad. It’s regular people who take care of us in our local hospitals. Its the regular guy who fights fires, protects our neighborhood… and its these same regular people who are being abused by the system every single day. Who are being lied to by local, state and federal politicians who care more about the lobby that funds their re-election campaigns than you!
The war on foreclosures is really, in some ways, the epicenter of this larger fight for our rights as citizens. It’s the fight for representation because I really don’t see any elected official willing to fight for us no matter what it takes.
Getting attention of more and more people as to what is happening is one way to shift some of the chips in this game over to the regular folk. Getting the attention of the media is one way to create more awareness and put pressure on elected officials to actually do the JOB they were elected to do. That job is literally and truly – representation – of those in their community, state and country who ELECTED them in the first place.
Politicians (I call them elected officials) only have power because it was granted them by our vote. Our vote next time around is how we take power back. But that requires a majority and that requires attention… getting the attention of a majority as to what is really happening. So take your voice to the media as part of the way you fight this war!
I have done precisely that in our local community – Ft. Myers/Cape Coral, Florida. The Ft. Myers News Press is now running a series on foreclosure. Last Sunday, July 19th the News Press ran several articles on the foreclosure situation here to which I was a contributor. I followed that series of articles with a response to some comments our local Clerk of Court had regarding foreclosures. Those comments were featured in a Guest Editorial.
The articles and my guest editorial can be read by using the links below. I’m also including a video of a nice woman I helped as well. The News Press interviewed her. Linda’s message was simply, “You gotta fight…” I hope this encourages more of you reading this to take your fight, and your opinions, to your local media. Get them to help you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say…
